The meetings gathered more than 500 participants and guests whom they had invited, representing 119 companies, as well as market experts and journalists from 23 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bahrain, Byelorussia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Malaysia, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States
From 2002 and through the present day, the November Business Meetings of Reinsurers have been the most convenient and popular venue which makes it possible to hold the maximum number of meetings and negotiations with partners from Russian and foreign insurance, reinsurance and broker companies during a very short period of time.
In this year, the November Business Meetings of Reinsurers were held in accordance with a traditional scenario. On 23 November, the participants were greeted during a brief plenary session by Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the November Business Meetings of Reinsurers, Head of Incoming Obligatory Reinsurance Department of IJSC Ingosstrakh Igor Alexeev; Chairman of the Reinsurance Committee of the All-Russian Insurance Association (ARIA), General Director of OJSC Moscow Re Alexander Artamonov made a presentation on the priority lines in and plans for the Committee’s work. Nina Smirnova, General Director of OJSC Insurance Company AIZhK familiarized the audience with the prospects and first results of development of mortgage commitment insurance; Deputy General Director of Insurance and Reinsurance Company Unity Re LLC Dmitry Garmash presented a survey of capabilities and potential of the Russian reinsurance market; a presentation “Russia as an Alternative Market for International Risks” was made by Charles J. Catt, CEO of Challenge Group; General Director of OJSC Profile Re Vadim Klementiev reviewed the amount and reasonableness of disablement benefits on the Russian insurance market.
The business portion of the forum on the 23rd and 24th of November was completely dedicated to meetings, negotiations and presentations prepared by participating companies.
In the evening of the 23rd of November the participants were invited, in accordance with the tradition, to the annual Beaujolais Nouveau Festival organized by a long partner of the November Business Meetings of Reinsurers – Moscow Representative Office of SCOR.
